AROARAH

AROARAHPlaying: Monday, Sept 5 @ 2:30 pm

The Roman goddess of “DAWN” (A new beginning).

Exactly who is AROARAH and what sets them apart from so many other bands today? Kenzie, Morgan, Lydia and Chelsea are four talented young female artists, two sisters and two of their best friends.

AROARAH is the hottest all girl band in the Northern California music scene. Having shared the stage with Lillix, Onesidezero and Abloom. These girls are definitely poised to put the grrl back in rock.

Kenzie Knoester: The Drummer, is a self taught perfectionist, percussionist. Her influences are derived from Rush’s Neil Peart, Fiona Apple and Sparta.

Morgan Knoester: Guitarist and Back Up Vocals. Ever changing, an individual with the only thing in common with her sister “the drummer” being last names. Morgan’s background and fascination of playing both acoustic and electric guitar stems from (Jimmy Page) Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and more recently The Deftones.

Lydia Gavin: Lead Vocals and Guitar. A short comical brunette with outbursts of energy a.k.a. “Jack Black,” Lydia’s musical attributes come from listening to the likes of Daryl Polumbo, Gwen Stefani and Kurt Cobain.

Chelsea Baker: Bass Guitar and Vocals. The shy one of the band, blonde and beautiful, is comical on demand. Chelsea looks to “Flea” (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Smashing Pumpkins and Shavo (System of a Down) as just a few of the respected artists that have made an impact on her playing.

The girls' natural musical talent and song writing ability has brought them recognition in three short years, from competing at their high schools battle of the bands to performing with major artists. The quartet plays their own style of music derived from their sphere of influence. AROARAH has manipulated rock to create a sound all their own. There are no magical messages, no smoke and mirrors in their songs. They write and play from the heart with a passion to be the best. When playing live the girls rock the house and have been described as “having more balls than most guy bands.” Over the past three years, these four young ladies all under the age of 20 have formed a prolific song writing team, catching the eye of producer Jasan Radford (Abloom/Onesidezero) and producer/engineer Chuck Sparks (Trailer Park Pam). These girls have the desire that will marvel most. AROARAH continues to grow emotionally, musically and spiritually and have yet to touch the tip of their ability.
